My little boy turns 7 in a couple of weeks and my little girl will be 4. I've got both of them a DS lite from the morrison deal and they already have Wii with Mario Cart, Wii Sports, Mario Galaxy and Wii Play.

Has anyone got any suggestions for suitable games for their ages (for either format) at a reasonable price? as the extended family are now asking for gift ideas and I haven't got a clue which games are good and what is a good price.

Thanks in advance.

Cooking Mama is a great game for all. Its available on both formats. Sims Castaway on Wii. There is my little pony for the girl but I can't comment on how good that one is.

I think the Cooking One is the one...Good Luck

I've got a ds for my 4 year old and he loves cooking mama. I also got lots of gameboy games which he plays with as they were so cheap.

I saw a mama gardening one today that looks good

I'd recommend the Lego games & ben 10 for your son & the imagine games & animal crossing for your daughter.

Thanks for the suggestions. I may have to rethink now for my little girl though as the ds lite we'd had put to one side for us in a different store wasn't there when my husband went to pick it up. £99 seems a bit much when I'm giving it to a 4 year old (don't suppose anyone got a spare they want to sell?).

I'm going to have a look at ben-10 for my son though (he already has, and loves, the lego games for his PS2).

Rep all round.

Try a new catalogue. I recently joined Additions Direct and got £30 off my first order over £60 which made the DS only £70, you can then try through quidco too but they don't always pay out if you used a discount code so don't bank on getting it. I know the 30% off that's going around at the moment for different catalogues excludes electricals but like I said, if you can find the £30 off £60 first order then this does work as this is what I used. If I find one I'll let you know but DON'T use the random ones on here for existing customers as these will more than likely be clawed back and you'll have to pay full price, make sure it's a new customer one.

Thanks, but not sure I'm brave enough to try trading on here yet after too many bad ebay experiences (nothing personal)
