Yeah i agree with staffiebull. Best in Ramblas, Catalunya Square or Gothic Quarter. Try and avoid the Sagrada Famillia area as there isn't a lot else in that area. Plus it's a lot easier to get about if you stay in one of the mentioned. You can sometimes get some good deals through Midas

or you could try here they seem to have some good prices http://www.justonehotel.com/interface/search.php?mode=search
Good Luck you'll have a great time when you go!

Have stayed in the Citadines on La Ramblas and its good for certain things if you are looking for an appartment as such but for a 3 day stay probably not.

I have also stayed in one on the same side as Citadines but a bit further down towards the port, for the life of me I cant remember the name of it and they dont seem to be on any of the sites, I got their web address from a friend.

Off at work just now and not back for a while so cant even check favourites for you.

Best advice for Barcelona....watch the pick pockets very carefully!

I was in Barcelona in May, stayed in the Hotel Gran Havana on the Gran via de las Corts Catalanes, only a couple of minutes to walk to Placa de Catalunya. There are a lot of good hotels along the Gran Via de las Corts also on Passaig de Gracia.

Ambassador Hotel, Cristal Palace Hotel, Abba Rambla are all decent hotels.

Barcelona is not the cheapest city for hotels but you can pick up some good prices. Beautiful city and can't wait to go back.

I didn't have any problems with pick pockets but you get them in every big city around the world so just take the same precautions you would here.

Las Ramblas is very expensive for food and drink, a lot of really good reasonably priced places away from Las Ramblas. Tapas is fantastic, Camp Nou is well worth a visit.

If you want accomedation right in the centre i would reccomed MHapartments.com great places very comfortable and cheap for the location and the standard. I stayed in Plaza 2 in April cost us 200 for 2 nights an apartment for 6 people. Also come with all mod cons

That is the going rate on las Ramblas, we made the fateful mistake of not asking first! Should have know better as my friend that was with us used to live there! We had just arrived gone for a walk and needed a drink, never doing that again!

I stayed here in September last year. It's a superb hotel.

It's about 5 Metro stops from Las Ramblas, but there is a metro station about 150 yards away (Estacio Sants if I remember correctly).

The room was large and extremely clean, with a great bathroom/shower/bath. The staff were brilliant and very helpful.

Highly recommended.
