Keep an eye out for the Dell deals that MikeT posts (usually on a Thursday morning)

You may not rate Dell laptops but you'll get a half decent spec for your budget IF you do this. Go via Quidco and after two days of your order phone up and tell them you've had second thoughts. They will offer you 8% (in my case £40) off your order.

I received a pretty decent Turion tl56 with 2gb ram and a 120gb HD with a printer/scanner/copier for £359. (that's minus the £40 and £15 quidco.)

It would be even less if I could find someone to take the printer/scanner off my hands.

Otherwise look at the free laptop deal from PC World if you subscribe to Orange, I'm not sure if they are also offering £300 off a laptop instead.
