Can't use google unless I press another 'I agree' button.

Hi peeps.
Anybody else getting this sort of nonsense.
Every time I try to use google it puts a 'I agree' box on the screen; can't get rid of the box unless I click 'I agree'.
As I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to be agreeing to it would be somewhat silly to click it.

I'm fed up with googles' constant pestering for all sorts of information - they'll be wanting a diary of my bowel movements next - and I'm thinking of switching to Bing (or another search engine), but I can't google bing because google won't let me do anything.

Anyone know how to get bing without using google?

Just found out Google reads every single word in your gmail emails - every single word! oO
And, they make back up copies - even if you delete your emails immediately they will still have a copy of it, what the heck!

I'm surprised that you're surprised. Your son's choice of duckduckgo.com is not a bad one for surfing the net.

So are you clicking Agree? It's not going to go away until you agree, of course.
#2
Doesn't do that for me.
#3
It just says agree? It's not that think where you have to agree to their use of cookies is it? Is it a new installation of the browser?

Can we see a screenshot?

No, I've clicked enough of googles' I agree boxes and I'm fed up with it.

So you have clicked I agree once in the last few days? They updated their privay policy and you have to click agree.
But they let you read all the changes, so you know what you are agreeing too. If you really care.

I'm not sure about screenshots, Deeky.
Tried to 'get page info' - does this help?

I feel like I'm being spied on - and I'm probably the most boring person on the net, no porn, no politics, no streaming, torrenting, or anything 'dodgy' at all - misk is about the most outrageous thing I get up to - who'd want to spy on someone as boring as me?
Makes me feel uncomfortable, hope it's not going to lead to yet another avalanche of sales emails (virginmedia recently changed to a 'better' system and effectively lets more scam through than ever).

I hate the way Google tries to take over everything myself, but if you have to agree in order to continue using Google than you don't really have much choice, other than going to Bing or something, like you suggested. You'll soon be back though, looking for that 'I agree' box X)

I've changed the bit in the first brackets so you can see what I see and not what you see.

Yes, I suppose you're right, google does seem to have it more or less tied up.

My daughters suggested Bing - they say it's not as good as google, but it does the job (not sure if it's any less invasive).

My son and almost all his friends use 'duckduckduck' - but I think that's because they visit sites they're not supposed to.

Google's censorship has made me switch these days. I'm using Yahoo more and more because it doesn't censor results nearly as much as Google does. And i quite agree about these "I Agree" boxes, they fill it with that much legal crap that most people wont read - they could easily summarize it into a single paragraph giving a brief description of whats changed.
#33
You might have to agree to disagree on this one t2h :{X)

On that note, im sure i saw something somewhere that theres not enough time in your entire life to read every single "terms and conditions" document relating to the things we use daily. X)

It's the same with Virginmedia email system, Maccy.
After messing us about for months with a 'google robot page' they recently brought in whole new improved system with a special feature to block spam - but it now lets far more spam through than it ever did before - and when you mark it as spam it does NOTHING! - absolutely nothing!
And, phoning Sabrinka or Khalid etc in India doesn't make the slightest difference - instead of understanding and fixing the problem they're more concerned with sending emails for us to say how good they are - and we have to do it, otherwise the whole indo-economic structure could collapse - at least that's my understanding of the urgency conveyed during the call.
