depends on what motherboard you've got at the moment...

the old connection type is AGP, the new connection type is PCI-E

do you know which it is? If not can you take the side off your case and post the all of the numbers on the motherboard (thats the biggest board in there)

its pci-e

What are you wanting one for games? etc. At the moment I'm running a 8600gt which runs all the games i've tried including Crysis, also it will overclock to the specs of an 8600gts and its cheap.

that sounds good mate where can i get one of those from and whats the exact name for it?

At high settings? On a decent resolution? At a minimum of 30fps?

Which one is best really depends on how much you want to spend, what you're going to use it for and what resolution your monitor is.

The 8600GT is probably a good compromise if you're not willing to spend the £100 on a 9600/8800 or 3850/3870, although if you don't need a powerful gaming card at all then the 8500/3450 seem to be the cheapest latest generation cards (they'll have things like hardware video decoding to take the load off your CPU).

I got myn from ebuyer.com but if you just type in nvidia 8600gt you should be able to compare the prices.

im looking to spend about £50-£65, looks like ebuyer,play.com are cheapest around!.
i also need to know how do you fit these cards into your pc, ive no clue how much do you reckon someone would charge to fit one of these and is it difficult?.

i also need the card to have S-video or composite CVBS out, does that make any sense

hi tanboy, the cards are very easy to install.
basically remove the side panel from the pc and locate the pci-e slot (this will be the slot on the left hand side under your processor and above a few white standard pci slots)
You simply line up the pci-e gfx card and it slots in. Be sure before you handle the card to touch a radiatior or something so it removes any static on your hands.
