For the last couple of years we have loved the Java, Kenyan and Ethiopian "premium" filter coffees in Aldi, but we noticed a few weeks ago that they changed the packaging, but did not think anymore about it, but have tried 4 or 5 packets of the 3 types (Kenyan, Ethiopian and Java) and we are not really enjoying them (in fact disliking them when we always loved them).

Nothing has changed (how I make them and the water tastes the same) so I'm guessing they must have changed or even a bad season for African coffee?

Thanks Mark.

Just looking now and it's their Specially Selected range of coffees (apparently it won taste tests a couple of years ago) : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3240520/Aldi-s-1-79-coffee-beats-deluxe-brands-taste-test.html

I've noticed a few things are different of late, can't comment on the coffee but almost certainly, aldi are having to compromise on certain areas to keep spiraling prices low.

I know - I was really impressed with their Specially Selected bacon a while back with no water or white stuff coming out of it and although it's still as good at (or maybe still slightly better) than the likes of Tesco Finest etc it's not as good as it was.
