Okay so I have an idea for an app and wondered where I could go with it. In fact I have 2 ideas. I've been thinking about them for a while and still think they're great ideas and me personally would benefit from using them and make my life easier. So if I can benefit I'm sure a whole lot of others can too.

I don't think it would make millions and millions (chance would be a fine thing) but one of the apps I've thought of could actually benefit HUKD during its usage and make people's lives more simple. I think integration with it would be brilliant for its users, mainly on this site as well as people in other countries and sites. Also it's a type of app that developers of HUKD may even like to have depending if they'd want to invest in as I don't have the knowledge and time to develop such thing.

As to the second app, I think it would benefit for the likes of google or Microsoft in some ways as it would need an email for it to work or it could just be a standalone app.

Any ideas for my ideas?

Thanks

Wrong, if you read the post you'll see I said I have 2 ideas.

What I'm asking if who could I submit my ideas to to get the created and it's such a successful thing, have a % of of the profits for having the idea like any normal person would ask for.

Not exactly going to post my ideas on a public forum for someone to claim as their own

Imagine you went on Dragons Den, they would look for a prototype app, you would need to invest your money time and effort in it, do your numbers and then deliver your business plan to the appropriate business. Saying you have an idea is not enough. No sane person would share it, and no sane person would develop your idea and give you a profit share for doing nothing but just thinking about it.

If I knew how to develop an app I probably would. I just wouldn't know where to start or what to start with.

How would an idea not be enough? Isn't that mainly what anyone needs to begin somewhere? Many ideas out there have lead to good stuff

r u sure there's no apps already like it I assume there will be. without actually saying what it is u will really need to learn how to make a app good luck with it.

Yeah I've scoured the App Store looking for something of a sort. There's something alike but it's just not what I think it should be. There's so much more from my idea compared to the alike thing

Is that an indication that you're leaving this thread? If so I'd be happy for you to troll somewhere else.

Only asking for some advise. Not some keyboard warrior who assumes differently

ok so what is that app just too see what ur trying to go for as that apps already made we wont be cashing in on ur millions.

You need to expand on your actual ideas before asking for feedback. Integration with common apps and services is good, but only if your apps have an actual purpose (which you haven't described).
HUKD may not be the best forum for this unless you want to get user feedback, and it sounds as though you don't have anything ready to test.
What are you looking for here? Advice on where to go for app development, or a place to share ideas?

It would certainly serve a purpose and no I don't have anything but an idea. Preferably I'd like to know the where I could go for app development but I did state I don't have time, but to be honest I could make time if I could learn what it takes to develop an app as I'm clueless

Seems an affordable cost to develop an app. I'll keep that link in mind. Thanks

ok I see what u want there will most probably be something similar to ur idea as there's so many in that branch already u probably are thinking of making a app that u take a photo or scan a item in a shop and it get loaded up automatically with details about the item to a certain place with prices etc. that would be good idea and u would have the options of sending it via email etc. probably am wrong but that's what I would like a app to do saves us typing in deals adding the location details price etc and when submitting it all fails usually.
#19
i have a idea aswell I have told it too many people but I don't know why it's not being implemented by any car manufacturers basically I would like it if u pressed a button and ur car tires would turn 90 degrees or another set of tires comes out and then u can park sideways without all the messing about with parking sensors and all these other automatically parking cars wouldn't thay be easier and better idea . u want get that put forward and we can share in money u make on it .

I have used http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/ to make a few little apps. It's pretty easy to use as it has jigsaw-like code blocks which snap together. You can then download your app as a QR to test it or an apk.
Limitations being I think it's only for android and if you want to publish apps you need to take them to Google play which costs around £20 to become a publisher at https://play.google.com/apps/publish/

Not a bad idea that to be honest, now that would make HUKD quicker and efficient. At least instead of people asking for the barcode of the product, this app could have a function to scan the barcode (if it's an inside deal) and display numbers off the barcode for other users to check themselves for their local stores and maybe instantly take the stock picture and description directly to the deal that's being posted instead of having to copy and pasting stuff (reminded me of the Lego millienium falcon that was £30 before Christmas at Tesco) X) but not what I was thinking

Alright, that's a bit more specific. If you don't have time but have money, you'll need to look at hiring someone - there are a good number of sites to find freelancers. You'll still need a fleshed out plan and idea - try some of the Stack Overflow forums. Keep up to date with what's coming up on the app market for Andorid and iOS.
If you're willing to learn, be prepared as it is a lot of work and continuous testing. But don't let that put you off. What you may want to do is pull together a business case, see what the appetite is for the app (always useful to know before throwing time and money into it), and come up with some basic concepts to take to developers, designers and testers. Try to answer the following questions as you do:
-What is the app's intended purpos
-Who is it for?
-How will it benefit them?
-What's already out there?

Good luck!

I think majority of folk on here would actually use my intended idea. I'll have to wait for my student loan if I'm getting the impression it won't be cheap X)

Thanks for the advise, will have a visit on that forum you suggested. Its my day off tomorrow so I can have a look into this in depth

If you're at uni, go to the computing department (assuming you have one) and hunt down some devs and testers who have an interest in app development. Also find folks who can do UI and/or UX design.
Used to have to do this a lot at uni, and it's good practice, can be fun and can be rewarding. :D

I was toying with the idea of popping into uni and asking some people. I would of thought it may be those who are in 3rd year who are maybe looking for something potential, I'm not too sure but I'll make a a day of it soon and see where it takes me

I designed a PS4 game. It will never get developed though as game designers themselves even have ideas that are never developed. It's just to saturated unfortunately. My game even had a revenue stream through licensing from manufacturers. And also an educational aspect. Never gonna happen though

This in relation to very very brief outline of the 2nd idea I have that would benefit the likes of google or mircrosoft?

I will keep trying. I have approached various game studios but they all say the same. "We don't accept external ideas". Shame really.

I got no idea what your ideas are but I just want a simple app that alerts me when the FTSE reaches a certain level and I can't find one. I am thinking of learning to write one but I would have to buy software, which kinda puts me off.

If you tell me what your ideas are, we could maybe do a deal ;)

Dont need to buy any software mutley. Someone above mentioned appinventor. It runs in your browser and there's loads of tutorials floating around. I used it in 1st year of my degree and you don't need to publish the app if you just want to use it yourself.

well for most it is in most places but then u have drivers who take 5-10mins parking in a 2 length space blocking the traffic. or there's parking spaces where u have about 20 cm spare space which I hate parking in as a slight misjudgement will have the insurance people come knocking on for injuries.
