hey all, getting an LG blu ray/HD-DVD drive fitted to my PC this Xmas to go with my new ATI HD2600 512 gfx card.
I already have it hooked up to my TV via the HDMI cable and have been downloading tv shows from the US in 720p MKV and have tried a coupla blu ray rips in 1080i/p and they look awesome.

my gf has gotten me Dark Knight to go with the player too.

any HD-DVD bargains going?
have had a look on HMV so far and seen a couple of nice ones.
play havent got much left and neither have Amazon.

anyone I've missed?

You need to think about what player software you are going to use. The best software to play Bluray is Cyberlink PowerDVDv8. The problem is this doesn't play HD-DVDs. To play HD-DVD you need PowerDVDv7.3, but this doesn't play most new Blurays very well.

You also need the correct graphics card drivers and to ensure HDCP is working.

Make sure you can get all this working before you splash the cash across both formats!

power dvd 8 already on, with the hack i found on the torrent sites to re-enable the hd-dvd playback.
gfx drivers bang up to date

hdcp compliance on card and tv but not needed as I will be using Anydvd HD.

I sorted all this out before I splashed the cash on the gfx card originally.

I'm not a PC novice, I'm A+ and N+ qualified and have been working with PCs since windows 98.
I did a lot of research before I bought anything new.

I just wanna buy some bargains now!

No offense intended. HMV have many HD-DVDs at £2.99
