Well not a huge amount between them all nowdays, but I would class WD black as my favourite although use Seagate 7200.12 at the moment due to better prices.

have had the seagate up til now but heard they had a reliability problem and was told wd mostly for ordinary not gaming use. will have a look at both again. thanks for all your help so far guys.

as per original thread, looking to know where best to buy these, esp as scan, the only one i know charges tons for delivery. thx. hence listed in the looking for deals section. lol. isnt that ok? also not sure of the best company etc for delivery and packaging. since there isnt much difference in the drives looking for the best deal with a good company.

You've had an answer why are you bumping again. All you'll do is get a repeat of what has been said if people even reply.

for the 500gb i think but seems to be good deals for 1tb, probably never need the extra, but then you never know. its more the reliablility am worried about.

Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache

was thinking about this at £50 as extra 10 delivery to NI at ebuyer, though same delivery charge at scan. thats the best i can find. can u see a better deal for either

aha, should have realised that. must have got my head stuck in ps3 for too long. i dont live anywhere near any pc suppliers closest is maplin 20 odd miles away, and there arent deals to be had at the best of times. not the market for the parts to really get a deal of course.

dcx_badass
Why, it's backwards compatible, also surely somewhere in NI sells it?

never even thought about amazon tbh, must ask the oldies if they got much off it recently. are they ok for tech stuff? think i should go with the f3 in your opinion then, if go for this and have decent mobo in, thats a start and corsair ram, at least power supply/fans and case are good to go. lol. will just have to cut back on the graphics card due to budget..college student life! thx for your replies.

dcx_badass
No SATA1 drives have been made for years. Anyway what about amazon? They have them. Do they charge you a premium?
#11
oh great will check that out then as the best option indeed, and nectar points too lol the olds tell me. theres living for ya. will have to check out their ram too guess it will be competitive too. thanks for that link.
