Intermittent Fasting. Who has heard of it? Who is doing it? What are people's views on the subject ?

Ive been on IF for over 2 years and I personally think it is the best eating program/lifestyle that is enjoyable and sustainable long term. I fast from 7pm until 11am the following day and then have an eating window of 8 hours. In a nutshell is basically skipping breakfast which allowed for bigger satiating meals in the 8 hours window rather than reducing calories with smaller meals.

I just go to burger king every now and again seems to work for me the less I go the less weight i put on

I keep trying to start it, I'm used to missing breakfast now and having bigger and better meals during the day, but I can't break the habit in an evening of snacking and moderately boozing. Generally do a window of 9pm to 1pm if I can stick to it.

Haven't seen the improvements others have, but it's that easy that I'll keep it up and gradually try and improve.

Its important to eat the right foods, track macros if you can. If you do not want to calorie count then reduce carbs and increase protein in conjunction with healthy fats. You will see massive improvements then.

missing breakfast is a big no no it gets your metabolism started for the day I should now I've lost a hell of a lot of weight and one thing all the experts i saw said was don't skip your breakfast

The logical answer is if you starve yourself of food when you do eat it you will over eat. This will expand you gut and this will delay the trigger your body sends to say you are full. So in the end it has got to lead to an increase in weight that may be hard to control.

This is total rubbish. You body is capable of detoxing it doesn't need help, not even that excrement in the little bottles mixed with sour milk.

I fast every year for a month. I know i will probably get a lot of stick here saying how unhealthy it is and how i am starving myself but during the summer period fasting begins at around 1am to 9pm. This is a little extreme for people who perhaps are not used to it but I have been doing it for 28 years, back then it was easy as the days were shorter but as the years have gone by it's extended. It helps detox, you do feel weak at first but then you get used to it.

I am not saying that you should do it for this long I am just stating that it does help as scientifically proven.

Interesting. The old metabolism slowing down has been proven to be total nonsense. It is still thought to be true though from lots of so called health professionals. All that matters is calories in versus calories burnt it's as simple as that. I too was taught to eat 5 small meals a day to keep your metabolism going we which we now know is totally untrue.

This again is not true. You will not overeat but it will help your body to understand when you are actually hungry and then have a feeling of being full.

It is very good girl your body, more and more research shows it is, it can reverse a lot of health condition diabetes, blood pressure etc.

The main thing for me is, the eating plan that works for you is the one to follow. If eating a bowl of cereal in the morning helps you lose weight and stay healthy then great. Equally if continuing to fast until lunchtime before having a proper meal works, then that's great too. I'm trying to switch to IF because I'm rarely hungry in the morning, so sometimes feel worse (bloated) after forcing food down. Regardless of what I have for breakfast, I still consume too much in an evening, especially when taking alcohol into account. Although I think that's mostly caused by boredom!
