Oban, Fort William, Glasgow , Edinburgh these are all places that meet your requirements lots of different places to stay.. and if it's scenery Glasgow and Edinburgh are good places to Base urself.

Cairngorm hotel in aviemore or parklands in perth

Comlongon Castle, quiet and beautiful near Dumfries. Look on Groupon for deals.

Inverness is a great place to visit...

Lots of really nice scenery around it for walks with the baby & getting some nice photos at the same time! :D
