anyway.....

tube - district/circle line westbound - probably quickest, will cost 1.60GBP
bus - number 11 or 211 from parliament square will cost 1GBP with an oyster card

Walking will take at least 40 minutes. If you have luggage of any great significance then 50 minutes to an hour is a better bet.

The origin postcode that you quote is pretty much on top of Tottenham Court Road underground station so you can take either the Northern Line southbound to Embankment then the westbound District or Circle line to Victoria or go on the Central line westbound to Oxford Circus then the Victoria line southbound to Victoria. The latter combination is definitely quicker. Either way will cost you £1.60 if you have an Oyster card and use its prepay facility. If you buy a ticket from the ticket office it will cost £4.00. A simpler version would be to walk to Oxford Circus (around 10 minutes) and take the Victoria Line from there, same prices as above.

By bus it's not worth it if you have to change as you'll then have to buy two tickets so take the 8 or 73 from Tottenham Court Station to Victoria Bus Station. With an Oyster card using prepay that'll be £1, cash fare is £2.
The simplest way by public transport

Where abouts exactly are you going? I googled the postcode and got the American embassy which is on Grosvenor square. Which isnt too far away. However google maps puts the postcode at Tottenham court road. There is a bit of a distance between both locations..

I hope these links can help you
