Hi there, I asked a question about ram yesterday and found that the motherboard I was given doesn't fit my cpu. So now I'm looking for a new mobo and need people who are a lot more tech savvy than me to help me choose one.

I am currently in the process of trying to build a gaming PC. A few of the parts have been given to me and some I have brought myself. Thank you in advance.

This is what I have so far.

I have seen quite a lot on sale at the moment. Was wondering if these are any good? A few of these have been on offer lately and don't mind waiting a little bit for them to go down. I'm mainly looking for something that will be long lasting.

Are you planning to overclock?, are you planning on adding a second GPU in the future?, will you at any point require RAID?

If the answers are no, no and no, there is little need to spend in excess of £100 on the board.

UPDATE...
Just seen the HDD, unless you need the features of a premium board I would in all honesty advise you pick up a small SSD and consider a WD black for programs and games rather than a blue, while its louder, it is notably faster.

I was just about to diss Abit.... but, like ... er they stopped making boards in 2008 and I've only just found out, I really should emerge from my rock 8) more often.

I used buy abit. Good boards for their time, shame they're now defunct. I'm joking about ASRock but they used to make cheap boards like pc chips in the past. I'd probably go for either gigabyte or asus on the next cycle. Gigabyte seems to be going ok for me at the moment

No idea really but the ati card is pants and they've just released information about the i7 7700k so I would wait to see what the pricing is like with them. Also heard the Kaby Lake chips are getting their own motherboard range so probably not the best time to slap some money down :(
