Hi,

I have a 32" TV that i need to sell, so i need to send it to the seller. The dimensions of the box are:

Length = 104cm
Width = 29cm
Height = 72cm
Weight = 9KG

I have been quoted like £72 to post it!?!? Its crazy money the TV itself is only worth like £300 max. Does anyone know where i can go to get this sent off?

Have you considered selling locally with the buyer collecting the TV?
#2
have you tried

http://www.shiply.com/

but yeah, local collection, avoiding ebay postage fees/paypal fees is your best bet

try interparcel or parcel2go, they both offer alot of different couriers to book UPS, MY HERMES, FED EX etc.

Not worth shipping. I doubt if you could insure it and unless it is a top quality one it won't be worth much more than the cost of postage anyway.

Via interparcel.com you can book 'City Link Next Day' for your weight and dimensions for £19.98
This included £50 for loss/damage which can be increased to £250 for an extra £5

Are you sure they insure tv's? Glass is normally excluded.

Parcel monkey, but don't use city link option.

i booked shi*ty link for a next day delivery, it took them 5 days to pick it up, as a lot of there drivers are self employed, if they don't have another pick up nearby they just won't bother turning up!

Surely you can sell it local. Gumtree is a good bet, face to face nice and easy.

Also do you use Facebook? Either way if you don't then create and account and do a search for local buy and sell pages. Just use the Facebook search and type the word 'buy' or 'sell' or 'trade' or any combination of those words or similar, followed by your town or city and you will find a great community that buy and sell face to face in your area.

PS, £300 for a second hand 32" TV. Are you sure> Even if it is a top of the range job you will really really struggle, the price of TV's have come down so much over the last 12 months and TV's are one of the hardest things to sell unless you price it right.

Anyway all the best with whatever option you choose. :)

At £72 it would be cheaper to deliver the TV yourself.

Not really. £72 = roughly 7/8/9 even 10 hours work for most people. Delivery (time + petrol + wear on car) = a lot. ;)

However it is still a lot and I would never pay that no matter what. Use Shiply or Uship and get it a lot cheaper, not sure about insurance but to be honest I would never ship a TV anyway. Local only. I also think the OP is expecting a little more for their TV than the true value and that is without knowing what TV it is. oO

Thanks everyone, I've done the interparcel option and a local pickup. The TV is a brand new sony well a few months old, I know it's not worth £300 it's listed cheaper than that.
