Help hotmail just unilaterally and automatically turned into outlook.com - can I turn it back? I don't think I opted into anything but the interface has just totally changed and it is awful. Have checked on line but all the instructions as to how to switch back are years old. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks very much.

Nope. Outlook has killed @live.co.uk for me

It says....

Note: Unfortunately, accounts that have been automatically upgraded as part of the gradual upgrade process cannot be changed back to the old Hotmail layout.

Huh? I've been using the "new" look for years. How were you accessing the old theme?
#4
I cannot believe how clunky the new interface is!!! it looks prehistoric!

Sign up to Gmail instead

I too found this a real issue the interface is shocking.

Sadly you cannot revert to the old usable interface.

As for the recommendation to go to Gmail that interface is just as bad shocking.

Alas I believe we have to put up with these unusable interfaces.

I think the email companies are trying to get users to manage their inboxes instead of having numerous infinite unread emails stacked in the inbox

Oh well ho hum

I'd be very surprised if outlook/hotmail/live etc. didn't support IMAP so you could collect your e-mail in an e-mail client of your choice.

Don't worry you'll get used to it.

Although if you are using the app, then I highly recommend Aquamail as it is a lot better.

It's a bloody nightmare. I don't even know what I'm doing wrong but I cannot even scroll my emails. It's awful. Don't think I can swap to gmail as got my daughter to set up loads of gmail accounts for coupons, lol, and she tells me we're at some kind of limit of gmail accounts.
