If the phone is less than a year old, then apple will replace it for you.

My home button is broken on my ipad. I didn't want to pay out for it, so have just uploaded the button from accessories to appear on my home page and use that. May help whilst you wait for yours to be repaired.

Look for eBay item number 261618885775 to give you an idea. make sure you put metal bracket back on right way when finished. Very simple job, few fiddly screws. 5-10min fix. eBay search for iPhone 5c home flex.

good luck.

I changed my iPhone 5 home button and it took less than 20 minutes from start to finish and was not that complicated either, as long as you don't rush and are careful it should be doable with the eBay replacement.

Andriod has a app that puts a home button on screen. Also in notification bar but it appears not to be avaliable on ios. I have taken a few phones apart and it's no fun and you risk more damage and problems so I think you may be better getting a price from one of the many shops around to fix. If it's not worth paying them to fix consider YouTube instructions yourself. Good luck

if you jailbreak there are apps on cydia that allow you to replace the home button with gestures. I had swiping from the home button upwards towards the screen . something to consider while you send it for repair
