HELP - My Xbox has the red rings of death - should I pay for it to be repaired or should I buy a new one? I love XBOX live and was wondering what the best deal around at the moment is? I don't want the super elite - no need for the larger hard drive.

mine has just got back from xbox after about 6 months!!! gamestation sell the elite preowned for £140 and the arcade for like 100 so if you already have a hard drive its probly the best way to go, also depends how many lights try unpluging and pluging in again!

my sons had rrd and i rang microsoft and they sent a new brick, then strangely it was still broke but not with rrd, it then cost me £60 to send it to them to be repaired and it came back with a full years warranty, so it's up to u, i recon even if it costs you £60 it's worth it, but how old is ur x-box, i read somewhere that they were extending the warranty to cover rrd for 3 years(by the way that was nearly a year ago and the machine is still working fine)

It's really not. I was on the phone for up to an hour once to an Indian women just to get a new wireless headset sent out. I got it in the end.

If you have the money, buy an arcade console, everythings new, quick easy and sorted.

However, if your a bit strapped for cash then either follow one of the many online guides which are not that hard to follow (if you trust yourself), or send it to microsoft and let them handle it. :)
