Hi, I am looking for a dvd drive for a notepad laptop. I am not sure where to look! Does the make and model of the notepad matter? Don't mind if it is new or second hand.
Any help will be repped.

(I think it's a dvd drive, there is nowhere built in to put in cd's etc)

TIA!.

I take it your after a USB DVD drive ? although it's not quite clear .
I use one , a very slim black DVD reader/writer with my Asus Eeepc . It connects to a USB port and will come with a mains adapter .I got mine with a second hand laptop I bought years ago from BigPockets .I would think a few places will sell these . hth

It is a small Samsung notepad, D10 I think. Just after somethig I can connect to it so I can install software, play DVD's etc. It's my Mum's so I'm not sure of the exact spec.

My quoting went horribly wrong!!! The above are for Spann3rs and Ricko!

What you want (well, I do for the same use) is a USB BUS powered external DVD writer (or possibly just a reader in your case). They have one on pre-order, which sounds great value at £40 over at scan, but ideally I want a slot load one (netbook => portable => no desk => uneven surfaces => broken trays in my thinking).

Any bargain USB BUS powered slot loading DVDRW's folks? £50 is good, ideally around £30 - 40.
