help needed - anyone using avg free

i installed avg free yesterday and scanned correctly and everything seemed fine . it scans my emails and says there are no threats there but on most of my emails i get what looks like an attachment (at least the symbol) but there is no attachment.
as i say avg tells me that there are no problems with my emails (it scans each one and passes them)
can anyone explain why i am getting the attachment symbol when there is no attachment?
rep given to anyone who can help.

+1:thumbsup:
If the company has a jpeg in the signature, or sometimes even a yahoo jpeg or something. will come up as an attached jpeg. (although, would have thought that you can find the attached jpeg if there is a paperclip atachement icon so not 100% on this)

You can also get this where HTML and plain text versions are both included in an e-mail.

I was also using AVG, but found my computer was slowing to a crawl while it did it's daily scan (which took several hours) so I'm currently giving Avira Antivir a whirl which seems really good. It comes up with a nag screen when it updates which is mildly annoying but it's easy enough to stop the nag screen coming up. Now I can't even tell that it's scanning so much happier than I was. I'd used AVG for years with no complaints but I don't rate the latest version.
