Hi,

As stated in the title, the computer I am using at the minute is getting a bit old therefore I am looking for a new computer base unit to keep me going, but don't want to spend a fortune. £250 to £300 would be ideal.

I already have a monitor, mouse keyboard and a new copy of windows 7 home premium that arrived today.

Don't know if this will help but my monitor is a decent but fairly old Samsung SyncMaster 940MW that is not full HD but I believe is 1080i. This has a DVI connection and HD connection through the component leads, but I have my 360 plugged in through there. My mouse is USB but keboard is PS2. If worse comes to worse I'll buy a new one if needed.

I use my computer mostly for internet browsing, but I also like to watch films / tv series that I have on the hard drive. I also play the occasional game on there, C&C Red Alert 3 being the newest one. I use my 360 for gaming mostly. Although I am very tempted by the up and coming Star Wars Old Republic MMO that is coming out next year.

I also need something with an inbuilt wireless PCI card as I have a wireless internet connection.

I also want to get the most out of my Windows 7 therefore think I will need at least 2GB memory. I would also like a dedicated graphics card.

I have had a good look around and have found a local shop to me called Web Systems that seem to have fairly decent CPU's for sale.

Below is the link for all of the CPU's available;

I am tempted by the "Web-Systems Web-Ultimate A64 Base Unit ( £ 225.00 Inc VAT )"
AMD - Athlon II X2 240 (Skt AM3) 2.80Ghz
2GB Kingston DDR2 800mhz Memory
400GB SATA II Hard Drive
Geforce 9500GT 512MB Video card
5.1 Channel Sound
10/100 Network
DVD-ROM
DVD-RW
ATX Case* + Power Lead

5 Years Labour RTB Warranty

No Operating System Included

or

"Web-Systems Web-Ultimate Intel Base Unit ( £ 280.00 Inc VAT )"
Intel Core2 Duo E7500 (skt 775) 2.93ghz 3mb cache
2GB Kingston 800mhz DDR2 Memory
400GB SATA II Hard Drive
Geforce 9500GT 512Mb Video Card
5.1 Channel Sound
10/100 Network
DVD-ROM
DVD-RW
500W Web-Systems Silver/black ATX Case

5 years RTB Labour Warranty

No Operating System Included

I know I will need to but a wireless PCI card and they are an extra £9 from these guys.

Thanks for your time, any comments much appreciated. NB I dont fancy building my own from scratch.
