I had in my mind some gate that's possibly 5ft tall but no such thing seems to exist .
Any cat owners have any suggestions?
We don't have the money to have something custom made .
Thanks for your ideas in advance

considering cats can jump 6ft from a sitting start, i'm not sure you'll find anything other than a solid door to stop them if they are determined...

Any particular reason you can't fit a door?

We have a door but want something gate like so we can see through to the children etc and let air through and have the window open etc.

We only want the one room cat free. They're have the run of the rest of the house .

Have you thought about expanding garden trellis? My friend had a similar problem so I suggested trellis and it worked perfectly. Just make sure the holes aren't big enough for your cat to squeeze through!

I've seen people fit 2, one above the other. Bit of faff, but it works. . .

pee all over the perimeter of the room, once you have marked your territory, the cat will not want to enter the room.

You could fit a full size metal security gate in its place...?

A bit of fine netting attached to a frame should do the job. Put this netted frame into a door frame so humans can get in and out like opening a door.

Get a glass door..

I have a similar problem with the dogs when out of the house (they open the doors!). Not perfect but we have 2 with the top one upside down. covers the full doorway and allows us and them to see through rather than feeling shut away.
