Hi HUKD people

Can you please help? My hubby has said for ages that he wants an LCD TV for the bedroom, and being a super wife , I'd like to surprise him with one for his birthday.

I've managed to find out from him (sneaky questioning!) that the size he'd like is about 26", and that built in freeview would be a good idea too.

Any recommendations, please? And better still, any hot deals that you know about?

Thanks:thumbsup:

Hav' ye a budget?

hi JDeal

I can see from a quick peek in Currys that £300 is about what I can expect to pay - so I'm flexible either way (although preferably downwards!!!)

Thanks in advance for any advice

Have you looked on ebuyer?

At that size with the freeview box and HD they are all about the 300 pound mark.

Well, I'm thinking about a 26" Philips which Richer Sounds has for £299.
Can anybody beat that price, please??

Hi

I was going to get the Philips http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=PHIL-26PF5321 which is advertised on their website at £349 but is in their advert in WhatHiFi at £299 - and they will honour the price in the mag if you take one along.

Anyway, they are having problems with stock on it, so they said they'd do a Hitachi L26HR1 (same as the L26H01 but just badged on the box for RS only - it's not on their website but if you google for the L26H01 you'll see the spec)for 'the same price as the Philips', even though they are selling them for £399 .... and they had one in stock. The Hitachi has freeview built in, whereas the Philips didn't.

So I trundled down there and they tried to sell it to me for £399, until I reminded them of the 'price match' promise, so they tried to sell it to me for £349, until I got out my WhatHiFi and they then sold it for me for £299 :giggle:

... which is £100 off their usual selling price, and £80 cheaper than I can find it elsewhere! So, very happy :-D

Hope this helps you, Mikeyw
