I went on holiday with friends for 9 days. On return, my friend's 2012 Ford Fiesta would not allow her access with her key fob and she couldn't turn the key in the hole to access her car (there is only one access through drivers door that we can see)

We suspect this is due to battery drainage through her leaving her dash cam turned on the whole time we were away and it being linked to the car battery

Is there any way she can get into the car or under the bonnet at least to try and jump start/ replace the battery

If anyone could help this would be great :)

Surley the key will mechanically open the drivers door using the old fashioned method of putting the key in the lock and turning it, if its stiff try a squirt of wd40 down the key hole

Sounds silly but have you checked it's not the keyfob battery?

And i agree with ding.. key in the door will work.

Key in door and turn , might be a bit stiff if never used before , or try the spare key ?

Does the bonnet open from the inside or behind the ford sign on the front grill is there a key hole for the bonnet release, the focus used to use this method but not sure about the fiesta

I've sent your answers to her so will see if she can sort it. Thanks everyone :) We did try to open the traditional way with no luck but maybe it's just stiff

Hi, I tried all the way across the bottom of the bonnet and couldn't find anywhere to be able to open the bonnet or the boot unfortunately

Does she have breakdown cover or do you have any? If so i'm sure that they will be able to open the door.

She managed to get the door open using the traditional way after perseverance and is now back on the road, woohoo! Thanks everyone :)
