Can anyone help please.

I'm really not very technical and my bro in law installed Kodi on my galaxy tab and I watch movies via wookie (this is all so foreign to me so I'm struggling to explain sorry) anyway its suddenly just stopped working and when I open the Kodi app I just get a message 'your library is currently empty. In order to populate it with your personal media...... enter 'files' source and configure it..... trouble is I haven't got the slightest clue what I'm to do, and googling it makes me even more confused. Anyone give me a fix that is 'simple' for my 'simple' mind please?

it's updated to the latest version, just go to addons

Sounds like it's been updated and lost the wookie build
The wookie build is a big one and might struggle a little on a galaxy tablet

Would it be better just to delete the whole thing and start again? Someone told me it's coz it's updated Kodi to version 17?

Download complete kodi setup wizard from play store, it's usually the second thing to op up after kodi when searching for kodi.

Wookie doesn't work with Kodi 17 yet, so you'll need to either put on a new build or revert back to Kodi 16.

If it's been updated to version 17 then yes
Try this one
