Well its like a mini computer, better specs would make it faster. More RAM in the firestick would be better which is what the newer one in the US has I believe.

Good job most people have a sense of humour. They aren't bad for what they are.

Eh? So you're making out that it was a joke? You should perhaps be a bit more obvious with your 'humour'. Didn't say the Firestick is bad but it hardly qualifies as the 'best Android/Kodi box to purchase'.

Need advice on the best Android/Kodi box to purchase? Any suggestions?
"Best" with what criteria and what budget? Bluetooth essential? 8GB storage or 16GB storage minimum? Can you ideally connect to internet by cable, of will it be wifi-only? Without knowing answers to those q's, best attempt would be a coverall best bang per buck of £32.99 delivered fulfilled Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01K494JSK/ for 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, dual wifi, beneficial external antenna, bluetooth4.0 via Amlogic S905X CPU running Android 6. If you're not fussed over some of those features nor ongoing CPU support but still want to retain minimum 2GB/16GB, you could lower the price to £28.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M3RUA5L/.
Most boxes would benefit from a keyboard/pad controller of some sort, minature ones are popular. If you want one from a reputable brand and with a backlight, consider £12.99 for the rechargeable Rii i8s https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01HDR58VI/

Probably shouldn't though should I?

Without a price limit everyone is clutching anyway.

Yes you should, you're obviously not a comedian. If you are, don't give up the day job.

If you are looking to stay mainstream (sic) with no price limit, Nvidia Shield, but by the time you reach that pricepoint, there may be other options for Kodi that are more flexible not via the Android platform. Maybe the halfway house of something like the 3GB RAM version of the H96 at £59 ex-China http://www.banggood.com/H96-PRO-PLUS-Amlogic-S912-Octa-Core-3GB-RAM-32GB-ROM-TV-Box-p-1100082.html complete with limitations briefly discussed in an earlier HUKD thread with a happy buyer at post 19 http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/alfawise-h96-pro-kodi-tv-box-android-6-0-3gb-ram-2-0ghz-octa-core-32gb-rom-53-51-2552068?p=29263640 also available fulfilled Amazon for £86.

I have the fire tv box and have Kodi/spmc/modbro (showbox and others dont work as well with the interface) . I also pay for netflix and amazon so have all of that on one box and with it coming in such a small package happily sits behin the tv mounted on the wall. I cant give any opinion on the wifi side as mine is wired in.
It works great in the year i have had it.

The S912 is a terrible choice, no Libreelec support.

Libreelec is not an Android platform where Android is OP's requirement. The limitations were referenced in the post and may be of no consequence, especially as the H96 is one of the few Android boxes that is available with across the board higher-specified hardware compared to the usual S905-variants.

Also not recommended for Android.

Q. I like to do a bit of DIY and don't mind getting my hands a little bit dirty and learning something in the process ?
•Various cheap AMLogic S905 devices, do NOT buy AML S912 devices.

and

Buggiest Android Kodi Box getting about is:
Any AMLogic S912 box running Android Marshmallow 6.0, like the Beelink GT1 as an example. Don't get hoodwinked by clever marketing and Tech specs people. Its been awarded a D by our very own @hdmkv. A D for Do Not Bother!
There is NO LibreELEC Kodi support for AML S912 devices either.

and

Normally I would say, ditch Android all together and use LibreELEC Kodi on AML S8xx/S905 hardware but the S912 cannot even do that as there is no LibreELEC Kodi support for such a S912 platform. The AML S912 is the worst combo for a getting a decent, reliable Kodi Krypton implementation going out of the box.

I would urge users to send such S912 hardware back to where they bought it if they don't like DIY projects.

I guess we concur on hardware options, but interpret the specific OP question differently.
