Hi, I'm looking for a laptop. Either an as new one with warranty that someone is selling, or if you have an idea of a bargain online that ticks all of the boxes. I want one with:

- A decent processor, preferably an i5 or quadcore, would consider a good i3.
- 4gb DDR3 RAM.
- At least 320gb HDD.
- At least 15.6 inch screen, 17 inch is even better.
- Numerical keypad.
- Dedicated graphics card.

I know I'm fussy and I saw the i5 Lenovo one that looked awesome, but it only had 2gb RAM which ruined it!

So does anyone have anything that'd fit my specs?

Budget is around £500. Would prefer to spend around £300 but can stretch for the right machine at a good price.

Thanks.

This one is brilliant and looks good, but is a bit pricey and doesn't have a separate numerical keypad.

Thanks mate.

This is almost perfect minus the graphics card. I need dedicated graphics, not integrated. Otherwise, very tempting! Particularly an i5 at that price!

These two look awesome actually. Any suggestions for which one? The Lenovo has a better processor but the Toshiba has a bigger screen, is that the basic gist of it? How much better is the processor?

i would go with i5 over the i3

i5 has turbo boost and hyper threading it can go from 2.26 up to 2.53 by shutting down its cores under a high load.

i have an i5 acer aspire 7740g with 5650 1gb graphics card

Its a tough one. The toshiba is more expensive before cashback (and no cashback is every guaranteed) But it does have the bigger screen and a much more powerful graphics card (it should play games like black ops and bc2 on lowish settings. It also has a better screen with better resolution. However the lenovo is going to be a fair bit faster and has a bigger HDD as well as being cheaper before cashback. It's also a lenovo which generally have a higher build quality (in my opinion) Anyway's its visual performance vs processing performance really! I cant pick between the two!
#18

Right now, this Lenovo is leading the way as it ticks nearly every single box. All I'm missing that I would ideally like is a 17 inch screen! Keeping this open for the timebeing. Also open to buying a second hand one if in mint condition with warranty!
#20
I should probably explain what I want it for:

- Normal internet usage and word processing.
- Playing some games, most powerful of which are the likes of Batman Arkham Asylum and Pro Evolution Soccer 11.
- Watching TV shows and movies (mostly downloaded or streamed).

I am planning to use it quite extensively as a replacement for my desktop since I am going abroad in a few months. As a result, I'm not necessarily in a rush to buy one now!
#21
i would still say i5 with a decent inbuilt card.

Not sure what the graphics card is like, nor the processor power.

Processor, ram, graphics and HDD all worse than the others.

Fair play.

Don't mind spending a tad more for one with a similar spec to that Lenovo, with a graphics card and screen like that Toshiba!

I don't unfortunately no.
#29
Which one of these would be recommended? Both seem similar though the first one seems to have better graphics and processor, compromised for a smaller HDD.

http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Lenovo_Z560_1039241.html

http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Lenovo_IdeaPad_Z560_988428.html

What gets me though is that the first one has apparently a smaller discount than the second one, so is there something extra special about the second one that I've missed? Like the fact that it's an IdeaPad (whatever that means)?

Considering that the Lenovo has everything I want minus the 17 inch screen (which I can live without), I don't think I'm asking too much!!

£500 is about the right price you should pay for the specs you want

Why not get the i5 Lenovo & stick an extra 2GB of RAM in it?
It's probably you're best option imo.
