Hi all, looking to go away for a week either on 4th August or 6th,7th August from preferably Birmingham or East Midlands.

Budget around £1000 for 2 adults (all inclusive would be good)... do I book now or leave it til the very last minute?

:) Any ideas?

I normally use teletext holidays (google it!) and book about a week before I go, as I find that you generally get more for your money than by using other sites, or last minute deals in travel agents windows.

As for destinations, how about Turkey, Tunisia, South America??

Hope this helps & Happy hols! :)

Try http://www.sunmaster.co.uk

Booked via them in June departed 14 days later. Very good company with helpful staff!

Good luck

I would book when you find something that you like with a price that you like. Prices don't always come down the nearer to the departure date, prices on late deals can still go up especially if the tour operators have a lot of capacity to sell and they are getting a lot of interest.

Local travel agents can offer prices as good if not better than online, it is a preconceived idea that online is always cheaper, it is not always the case.

You are looking to spend a decent amount so you will get something pretty decent for your budget.

Take a look at

Managed to book Turkey, Marmaris near the beach and amenities self catering apartment for £650 all in for 2 of us including transfers etc. There really isn't much left and was being quoted more than the brochure prices.

As a student I always follow ryanair. They now have flights to Morocco! You can find a website there where you can purchase activities (like guides: different kinds of sports, sightseeing, or beach breaks etc). You can book a hotel there as well...
Less you pay for the flight - more you can spend over there!
