Holiday with 2 young kids...can anyone help?

Hi guys

Looking for a holiday for 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 1). We want an all inclusive beach type holiday in a warm place before the kids holidays. I am getting so confused at all the places available my head is spinning. I would appreciate any help/advice you have. We have c£1600-£1700 to spend and want to get the most for our money.

The best times are end of May > before the kids go on holiday!

Rep to anyone who can help.

Cheers all!

turkey and egypt are best for cheap all inclusives.

try teletext holidays as they list the hotels which are opening this season and haven't been put in the big brochures yet.

check out reviews on hotels on holidaywatchdog.com

we did this last year very successfully.

I can recommend Fantasy Island in Kusadasi (Turkey). We went there for a week AI and the kids loved it. The hotel it self has 7 swimming pools (2 with slides). But you also get free entry to the hugh water park next door. The kiddie section is seperate from the main flumes/wave pool and my 4 year old woundn't leave.

Food at the hotel was great full range of stuff all day, and the family room was a god send as 2 bedroom. We went 2 weeks before the schools finished and it was only half full.

agents are JMC or Thomas cook.

we've really enjoyed Menorca-its only 2-2and a half hours from the UK so not too long a flight.

Its warm in June/July when lots of the schools are still not broken up.

If you book before the end of Jan most companies will offer you a free child place-and your 1 year old should be free !

Do you have any recommended hotels you would go to? I must admit, the flight duration sounds good (esp with little ones!).

Thanks

We didn't go all inclusive (half board)-but we have been a few times, and our favourite place is a hotel in son Bou called Sol Milanos & Pinguinos. It is family orientated and has a Flintstones theme. Dino comes out a couple of times a day, the kids beds/cots have Flintstones bedding.

There are two restaurants, one is called Bettys dinner which is very child friendly and has Flintstones chairs etc-both have the same food and are self service but the meals are nce and we always filled up at breakfast so by lunchtime all we wanted was a snack (we got a french stick from the shop everyday and soft cheese).

it is in a small resort so no rowdy groups. there is free evening entertainment at the hotel. also a kids club -one from baby age-we used to have breakfast and then put our little ones in for an hour while we went up and put the bags/towels together etc-they loved it.

Its also only about 20 mins from the airport.

You can get the bus into Mahon-the capital-from 100 yards away from the hotel, or hire a car. We have always gone for a day to Mahon to look at the boats and see abit of the city etc-but you might not want to bother with little ones.

Hope thats all you need to know-feel free to reply if you want to know anything else.

ps. we went with Thompson, Airtours and Direct Holidays-whichever was cheapest at the time. We had a cot, then a cot & single bed, then the last time bunk beds as the youngest is now 3 !

Take a look on www,portlanddierct.co.uk
They still have free child places available for the time you're looking at.
I have to agree you can't go wrong taking young children to Menorca, we loved Santo Thomas, Hotel Victoria Playa.
