I've got a Canon Pixima IP4000 and the photo prints are excellent and the cartridges are cheap.

I'm not sure if this has been replaced but just check out some search sites.

PC World sometimes have good price drops and you can reserve online and pick up in store. You could also try ebuyer, bigpockets etc which might have a voucher you can use as well.

Think hard before you buy because even though I've got a printer I've just had 70 photos delivered by Snapfish for £1.99 and there's loads of sites that will do the printing for you.

Anyway, best of luck.
Thanks for the advice - may have to look into snapfish first
You get the first 20 free when you join, I got the next 50 for 50p by using a voucher code PENNY and delivery was £1.49 so £1.99 altogether.

Unbelievably if you go through quidco you get £3.50 cashback, which I've just had validated!!

So they paid me £1.51?!?!
Printing photos in labs is cheaper but you have little or no control at all of printing process. So if you want to experiment or just want to have possibility to occasionally print pictures 'just in time' (for visiting mother in law, for example?) then photo printer is good investment. Just don't feed it with cheap compatibles and do colour calibration.
