I want to hold a horse racing night to raise funds for my cricket club, I'm trying to keep my costs to a minimum so would rather just buy a "host your own" horse racing dvd and make my own tickets etc.

Does anybody know of any good horse racing dvds that have a standard number or horses per race?

There are alot of DVD's on the net from amazon/play etc but I dont want to end up buying one to find out there are 10 horses in race one, 6 in race two etc etc....

Anybody got one of these DVD's?

Anybody seen any good deals on these DVD's?

All help much appreciated!

Hi, Asda were doing them at christmas for about £10.00, not sure if they still have them but may be worth a look. also our Wilkinsons had the same idea but for music, mexican and car racing in the sale at about £4.00, So other stores may have had horse racing ones.

Got one for my dad for Christmas in store at Zavvi. Was about £15 but I think some of them were around £10 but had fewer races on.

Seven horses from memory.

just a few points for you there (please PM Me)

you tend to have 8 horses per race, and either 8 or 9 races per night (depending on time)...
you should design and print your own race programme (save on costs)
based on 8 normal races of 8, sell each horse for £1+ each (min £64 profit for nothing)
your last race should be an auction race with a canny prize for the winning horse owner.

Have a couple things you may be interested in

how can you sell the horses before you know how many races you have. (you dont know you'll get a 9 race night DVD)

well i am selling horses now to make sure they all get sold, also, i know if needs must i can just buy a pre-made "kit" with the required number of horses in there.

so have you got a race programme for the night.. the idea is to deisgn your programme, (ill send you mine over if you give me ya email address) and name all the horses yourself, attach a prize to each race for the winning horses owner, then sell horses, knowing how many you have to sell.

normally its 8/9 races with 8 horses in each
