Subscribe to the newsletter on travelzoo.com

I got a great deal on the Millenium UN Plaza in April for 5 nights, I checked but it's no longer available I'm afraid.

There are some deals on their website now too though but not for April so best to subscribe.

NY hotels are not cheap if you want to stay centrally so best to hang on for a good deal.

Good luck.

I can recommend Radio City Apartments in NY. It is about 5 minutes walk from Times Square and 5th Avenue etc ,it really is very central. I believe it to be excellent value for money. Check out reviews on tripadvisor.com and you can also see pictures. I have also stayed at the Novotel in Times Square and whilst it had better views (once we had requested to move rooms to a higher floor) I think the Radio City Apartments are far better value for money. If i was to visit again this is where i would stay. Good luck and have a great holiday.

I stayed in the Doubletree Hotel in Jersey City.. excellent hotel with a large mall next to it.

Across from the mall was a subway station that took you to the Manhattan Mall for about a dollar a trip.

There's a Doubletree in Times Square.. would stay there next time if theres a decent deal on.

I stayed in the New Yorker in November...pretty much the other side of the road to Madison Square Gardens and a 10 minute walk to Times Square...alot of the rooms have recently been refurbished with comfy beds, tidy bathrooms and large LCD HD TVs (many channels broadcasting in HD too)

Paid £1200 for two of us for 4 nights, with the flights included (flying with BA) ...went though Expedia and got a bit of cashback via Quidco also :)

Damn shame the dollar is strong against the pound now though :(

I stayed at the New Yorker a few years back, great location but this was when the refurb had just started. They hadn't got to our room yet and it was a bit of a dump.

Whilst we were there, the sprinkler system went off on one of the upper floors and soaked peoples rooms and belongings. Thankfully didn't affect us but wouldn't have been pleasant for those whom it did.

Great location near Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building.

I go for COMFORT INN MANHATTAN , macys on one corner and 5th ave and empire state on the other , great diner for breakfast and subway station all on the one street. Infact I'm off there again in feb.

I stayed at the Hudson last year & would thoroughly recommend it, though its near central park & tiffany's rather than being times square

Just realised how old this post is & so no doubt you've booked now (sorry)
