Hey guys
Im trying to book a city break to nice, the easy jet flights are good but its the hotel that is a big problem!
I know the standards are pretty low there, so will probably be paying at least £100 a night, but I only want to pay if its going to be clean and in a good location!
the holiday inn there looks fab but way too expensive, think its £160 a night!
anyone have any tips or suggestions?
thanks in advance!

Try to check hotels at: www.travelsupermarket.com
I have just checked, you can get rates from £38 Room/night onwards. Some of them are very comfy hotels and right in the city centre!

I've stayed at the Kyriad in Nice, it's only two star but is clean and tidy and close to harbour and citadel area. 79 euros a night in mid september.

Hi, I have no idea if it's good location but this is 39 euros a night....can sleep up to 3 people. so it'll be a total of 160 euros for the whole stay and then in case it's not good location you could rent a car?

hey thanks for this
i will probably stick to 4 stars at the moment, only because i have had some awful experiences in 3 stars and i really want to make sure we have a nice stay!
hope i dont sound too posh here lol!

Don't rely too much on 'Tripadvisor'. That's my sincere advise

How about this on Booking.com

http://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/park-inn-nice.html?sid=a7f0d5b920ecd201caf57c56b9a76059;checkin=2010-08-31;checkout=2010-09-04;show_room=RD5805806

for a 4* hotel at 416 euros for 4 nights I think it's not bad. We have had the same problem looking to go to Venice recently as well. Eventually I found a good deal on Octopus travel, so they might be worth a try as well.

Formule1 hotels are VERY basic. Just somewhere to sleep really and generally in poor locations. I've stayed in a couple as overnighters when travelling and they're OK for that although it did look as though the French DSS used them to house a few homeless!

Have a look at www.citadines.com - they're about the best value in Nice!

Hi there

Been going to Nice for past 15ish years and can def recommend the Hotel Regence, right in town centre, best location, worth upgrading to the larger rooms but standard ones fine, great service.

Rated 8/204 on Trip Advisor too check out reviews:-

£76/night through Expedia.co.uk in September

NB If you're going to Nice don't miss the pizzas at La Pizza - practically next door to hotel & best I've ever tasted!

Have fun!
