Hotels/Hostels in Dublin?

Hello

To go with my 2p return tickets to Dublin in a few weeks, I now need to book a cheap hotel or hostel for the night.

I'm not renting a car so preferably it has to be in the city centre or near good transport links. I don't mind paying a little more if it means I save a bit of money on a taxi back during the night (as I've heard taxi's can cost quite a bit there). It doesn't have to include any breakfast or great facilities, just some where I can pass out in comfort after a night on the black stuff.

I know many people probably took advantage of the Ryan Air flights offer so has anyone found any good accommodation deals?

Thanks

This is the weekend of the All Ireland final in Dublin so I would say you'll have great difficulty getting an hotel especially on the Saturday night.

Jacobs Inn is a nice hostel just a few yards way from the bus station. Not seedy, just comfortable. If you are going on your own you will have to share. But if in a group, you can request a room for just your group.

Also Isaac hostel is part of the same chain

We stayed in the Jury's Inn on Custom House Quay (we got flights for £50 but got Pisa ones for £0.04 so swings and roundabouts) but saturday night was double the cost of the other two before it. Short bus ride from the station and then about 5 mins walk

lastminute.com probably your best bet, worked for me :)

i stayed in this one in march....

http://www.anoige.ie/hostels/dublin-international

its cheap and cheerful, doors have swipe card entry, lockers for each bed, has a tele room and basic games room

location wise its round the corner from the top of o'connell st which is the main road for shops, further down is o'connell st is a few big pub/clubs and once you're on o'connell st temple bar is only a short stroll away

try http://www.hostelworld.com -

if you're visiting the guinness storehouse book online beforehand to save a few euros and bear in mind its miles away from anything so get the on/off tour bus

when heading out from the airport you can get a bus to o'connell st, i forget the number, for about 2 euros. Or there's more expensive quicker buses around 5 euros +

Thanks for all your help guys. Has anyone stayed in the Globetrotter Dublin before? Their website is here http://www.globetrottersdublin.com/ and they seem very central. No a bad price and it gets cheaper with the more people you share with. Free breakfast too!

Hi stayed at the Clarion Liffey a little way out but got a 3 day bus pass ...i think about 12 euros and you can use all day and its cheap to comeback if you do have to travel (after 11.00 i think) catch the night bus(quite cheap). I believe it would have cost more just to travel via bus to and from the airport to dublin... so well worth worth it i think.
Stayed at the Clarion for £50 per night...and was an amazing place...gym, swimming pool, bar, a shopping centr nearby...we thought it was great.
So depending what you want ie luxury then this was definately the place.
