Hi, i'm looking to fly out to dubai in the next few months. Can anyone recommend any good (cheap) hotels out there-looking to stay a week maximum.

Depends what your budget is and your preferred location. I've been a few times, here's my thoughts:

The Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa always has good rates but is some 25 mins in a taxi to Jumeriah beach / Dubai marina where all the niceest hotels are. You can't get taxis from the hotel so you end up spending a lot on their chauffeur services. None the less, it is a completely self sufficient resort and has it's own private beach, golf course, shooting club and is a lovely hotel.

The hotels near Dubai Marina and on Jumeriah beach are generally all superb but you will pay through the nose. Best to sign up to some of their websites for best rates etc. I particuarly like the Mina A'Salam hotel, part of the stunning Madinat Jumeriah complex. The Hilton Jumeriah Beach and the Jumeriah Beach hotel are both excellent too.

The more budget options are on the banks of the Dubai Creek - the Sheraton, the Hilton Dubai Creek but I've not stayed in them. They are also generally not as visually stunning as the other hotels. The creek is definetely worth a visit though.

Best to get a couple of brochures (try Trailfinders) and see which ones you like.

I actually found Trailfinders got very good rates in Dubai (and Thailand) hotels so it might even be worth getting them to run you some quotes.

Have a great time, I love Dubai (went 3 times last year)

There are 2 panaroma hotels- like nice travelodges- i can recommend either, maybe the one in bur dubai is closer to the action, rather than the deira one. A cab in dubai (all honest ) costs £5 from one end of town to the other. Alternative might be the ibis at the trade centre remember quidco whatever you do!
Ibis City Centre, has good reviews
the best western used to be good 3 pools acw night club
you need to check if it is still standing tho
We stopped at the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort & Towers christmas 2007 and had a great time.

There was alot of building work around the hotel itself by the marina but the noise never affected us one little bit.
