Hotels near Eurostar Paris/Eiffel Tower

Im looking to maybe go away for a short break in november, probably only a single night.

Seen cheap eurostar tickets for £59 return per person

I would like to take the gf there for a day out.

Any good opinions on hotels that are close to the eurostar station (dont want the hassle of travelling far to and from the train) or eiffel tower

Ideally reasonably priced too based on the fact it will probably be a single night.

*Side Question, where is the good shopping at in paris? is it near the gare de nord station (eurostar)

Thanks

I have stayed at Hotel Richmond, directly opposite Gare Du Nord, for ease of transport. It was fine, but nothing special. Shopping is very dependent on your budget unfortunately. From La Defense which has a sort of outlet style area through to Champs Elysees. I find browsing to be better than buying.

The wedding shop area is just around the corner, but it is mainly bars/restaurants in that area. Close to Sacre Coeur though. In a day, you could get up for 9, visit Sacre Coeur, go to Eiffel Tower (Bir Hakeim on the Metro), batobus down the Sienne to Notre Dame, rejoin batobus and get it to Champs Elysees, walk down and do a bit of window shopping, see the Arc De Triumph at the end, metro back to Gare Du Nord for train home - but I doubt you could fit all that in unless you get the return train later in the evening.

sounds like a plan to me!

What are the costs of getting into notre dame/eiffel tower etc

Also interested it the boat trips that some people speak of?

Notre Dame and Sacre Coeur are free (but ask for a donation as you leave or enter - most people do not give it), Eiffel Tower, to the top, is €12 per person. Lunch will cost you about €12 per person near the Eiffel Tower plus around a minimum of €5 per person for a very simple and small drink (drinks are very expensive in Paris).

Two types of boat trips, guided tours which do a large loop and leave at set times. My suggestion howeveri s Batobus, which is a hop on hop off service. There is very limited tour information given. This will enable you to get off when you're fed up or just use it as a river taxi service at the same time as seeing the Sienne. Both types leave from the Eiffel Tower bridge location, mainly. €12 each. I would avoid the actual loop tours because they take a while and you don't actually get to a new location when you finish. Hence my suggestion, batobus to Notre Dame, then get back on it to go to Champs Elysees.
