So how do companies post them out to us customers then...

Why did my Amazon firestick come with a set of batteries or my Xbox controller.

Send it off 1st class signed for , what's in the parcel please "USB charge cable" pay your money and walk out simple

Nine times out of ten it's an electric razor. But ... every once in a while [looks around, leans in conspiratorially] ... it's a dildo. [leans back] Of course, it's company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo. We have to use the indefinite article, "a dildo", never ... your dildo

never been asked what's in a parcel, nosy postie!

It's normally lithium batteries that are issues and that's for international postage or couriers. Just disguise it in a jiffy bag or small box. If it is already sealed in the plastic due to the original package and shape. You could say it is a toy, or dildo.

You can send the batteries

They are within the threshold that Royal Mail states.

If you can find an ESD bag to wrap them and make sure them are removed from the device

Simply don't mention the batteries is another route

Just make sure they are packaged well

Yep, definitely say it's a dildo. Less embarrassing for all concerned :-)

To put it simply you can send batteries via Royal Mail, as long as they aren't massive. the outer packaging must be sturdy (i.e card /plastic not just a padded envelope).

The Post Office however is not Royal Mail, no doubt you will get told you cannot send batteries via Royal Mail by the counter staff. So don't tell them there are batteries (though I am not sure how this effects your rights)

i just said its a charger cable, it was a sealed in box play and charge kit for xbox 360.

They are adamant it will be screened and destroyed, but I cant see any alternative ways of posting, so fingers crossed.
Sent recorded, so hopefully a leg to stand on if they did destroy it

Strange i have sent a few things with batteries over the last couple of years always told the P.O. counter staff and all they did was label the package with a sticker never had a problem at all.

No leg to stand on unfortunately.

I sent a power tool battery 1st class recorded and it was destroyed, so its a chance you take.

Must add though I sold 6 in total and only had 1 'caught'.

Batteries are allowed to be sent if they include the charger or device which they are intended for.

You could say its a rechargeable toy with charger attached, as parcels which include batteries need a special sticker applied.

No idea how the big companies get away with it, items must not get scanned due to the volume possibly..?
