I bought Samsung s7 edge g935 from eBay arrived today, everything looks OK, android upgraded
to version 7, but when it notify me about the software upgrade available the language was Chinese or some other that's the only thing makes me confuse,

Things I have checked already,

matched the IMEI number with box (which is European sim card only)
came with 3 pin Charger
there is an app to check the configuration but it also gives wrong info

what's the best way to find out if its genuine

maybe the previous owner was chinesed. if you set a different language and factory reset, they seem to keep the different language

Sorry I maybe didn't explain properly the language was English and everything seems ok, the only thing when I connect it to the wifi and got notify about the android update available then its shows messages in Chinese as I own lot of Samsung models never experienced this, also the phone was listed as Vodafone but there no Vodafone app install on it and came unlocked.............but the box was European sim card which is usually available for UK

Phone can still be SIM locked to Vodafone even if there are no Voda apps installed.
Seller may have reflashed the ROM themselves

Bought a Core Prime from EBAY Unlocked and it turns out that he had flashed the phone badly. It was originally a Vodafone phone but the apps were hidden. The KNOX software locked it and after returning it to Samsung they told me it was "Beyond Economic Repair. If you check the IMEI it should tell you which network it was originally issued to. I used KIES to take it back to original software, because luckily for me I am on Vodafone at the moment. They are going to unlock it for nothing after the SIM has been in for 30 days.

If you go this route you can get all the latest updates through KIES

I have installed kies and got the option don't know I should do that or not, actually what's the point of doing it if I can do anything on unlock device as it should, sorry but my point was is it genuine or as you suggest flashed or not
