PayPal gift (sending money to a friend) is instant.
It will show in your bank statement a few days later.

Thank you.

Sorry for going around the house.

Well lets say £20 i sent by gift will it show in their bank straight away when they withdraw from paypal balance?.And in mine if i had £100 in bank account it would show £80 available?

think thats what you mean just making suree X)

Ok, so you send someone £20 ppg.
The £20 will show in the recipient's PayPal account instantly.
The recipient can then choose to withdraw the money to their bank account.
The recipient's bank account balance should show £20 increased balance within 2 hours however the description of the transaction ie wording 'PayPal' could take a few days.
The £20 is available from when it shows in the bank account balance ie 2 hours after withdrawal.

As for you as the sender, your bank balance will decrease by £20 promptly but the details of the transaction wording 'PayPal' may take a few days to update within the account.

bit like these replies , that was insane chaps.

I have never done this before but this is what i have done am i missing anything ?

1) Both of us have linked our bank accounts to paypal so it does not charge a fee (as opposed to paying by card)
2) I send the money to the email address as a gift/personal
3) Money goes into their paypal balance
4) They withdraw do they have to select bank account or anything or does it automatically just go into bank account not card?

Thank you for help much appreciated

Re: 4), he needs to go through the process to withdraw it (simple, a few clicks) and it confirms the bank account details before the withdrawal is complete.

I've only withdrawn to bank account so have no idea about withdrawing onto cards (or whether that's even possible).

When withdrawing to bank account I find the money is available within a few hours (my online bank balance increases) but the actual statement with 'PayPal' description takes a day or so to update.
I'm with natwest.
Much like when sending the money via ppg, it takes a few days for natwest to update the description of the transaction but the balance changes before that.

It sure is! I used to hate having to wait for Paypal funds to come into my bank account. I hope they will some day do the same thing for when its the other way round, bank to Paypal.
