Hi Folks I have a 36 month lease deal on a Fiesta Zetec S ecoboost.

I took delivery of the car on November 21st 2016. I assume the lease will expire on the 21st November 2019.

I have to get the car serviced in line with guidelines. I've read online you can get away with 2 services on a 3 year lease and also no MOT?

How do you go about this? Is it by returning the car before this date?

Yes, you just need to be careful and get the second service timed right.....arrange for the car to go back just before third service and mot is due. In your case I would have the 2nd year service done by November 20th 2018 and ensure you hand the car back BEFORE November 20th 2019.....but also check if you are within mileage tolerances as well.....it might stipulate car must be serviced after so many miles......

I suspect the key date(s) will be related to the original date of registration, not date of receipt by hirer. This would be especially relevant to first MoT liability.

"I have to get the car serviced in line with guidelines"

Surely you need to find out what the guidelines are then work out how you go about servicing it?

MOT is only required after the the first 3 years so assuming the car was registered when you received the car it shouldn't need an MOT before it due to go back..

Servicing will depend car and the mileage normally it's ever year or 10k depending which works first.

OK folks so the car was registered 31st October 2016 but car was not delivered until November 21st, so according to finance company I either hand back by October 30th at the latest to avoid MOT and 3rd service - but losing 3 weeks of lease - or pay for MOT and service and keep until 20th November 2019.
