£0.00 @
My sons Kindle Fire no longer holds its charge. I've no idea if its the kindle itself or the charger. Its in excellent condition with box. What do you think its value is? Read More

Is it still under a warranty? Manufacturer's warranty is a year if you haven't had it too long if you've had it longer, may still be worth a try. It's not going to be worth a lot as it's going to be as useless to other people as it is to, unless someone is a fix wizard (which I'm nothing of the sort), sorry to not be much help!

no, its almost 2 years old. I see people selling faulty things all the time....i'm no fix wizard either but im hoping there are plenty out there!!

Had a quick browse on eBay for faulty ones but they only have smashed screens and a couple of other issues :| I guess just pick a higher than expected price then see what people offer you back?

nice one amazon,

now you can sell the faulty one and be in profit lol..

dcx_badass it might be consumable but really if you only get 6 months out a battery something is well wrong.. I have had asus transformer tablet for 4 years and my son batters it off floor but it is still going strong..

on a side note do people remember when tvs and washing machines could last 10years and have no problems or you could call someone to fix it.. now we just replace them straight away as it is too expensive to fix its a real shame..

yay, just received email, justanothercid, they want the kindle back, theyve refunded me for the charger i bought at the same time (although it should have been included, i see the newer ones have them included now!).

Wow that's fab of Amazon - can't beat their customer service, tbh.
Good of you to suggest contacting them justanothercid as - just like the OP - I wouldn't have considered contacting them after the warranty expired :)

I just checked my emails and they've refunded me for the hdx ive just purchased as a present. I didnt think they'd go through with the refund for the old one but they have, she said she'll email me asking my permission for them to recharge my account for the original HDX and they will issue a refund for £99 for the older Fire. Lets hope it all goes through xx
