Hudl 2 refund?

My 11 yr old son bought an Hudl 2 on the 12th of January with his xmas money but its been iffy from day one with the charging issues and also the time being randomly wrong. It will also suddenly drop from almost full to needing charging, its done that 3 times. I did all the updates that were supposed to fix these issues but it has not.

What are the chances of getting a full refund? He got it in store and paid cash.

If the device (through no fault of your own) is not working as designed then you are 100% absolutely entitled to a replacement. Refunds they may push back on but if you are truly disappointed with its overall performance and dont think its offering what it promised then try for a refund.

If they only offer a replacement, take it. Return that the next day. Rinse and repeat until they run out of replacements :p
I generally find that if I stand at the returns desk until a large enough queue forms then they will always give a refund anyway.

Does the Tesco no quibble guarantee apply to its own brand electricals too?

Don't mention that it was used by your 11yo son - say it was yours/ partners. They'll automatically assume the fault is caused by him.

Not sure if it does. They do know about the charging and battery issues though but were supposed to be fixed. He has been using his laptop as it annoys him, he is 11 going on 30 lol

The battery charging issues are well known now and since the update which has caused more problems, has not solved everyones charging issues. There are now issues with the screen, date and time, sd cards and battery life. Tesco have also seen fit to sneakily remove the dolby optimised sound, according to users on modaco, which could amount to false advertising.

I've been fortunate not to have any battery issues and have not updated. Currently my hudl is working fine.

A good forum is http://www.modaco.com/forum/779-tesco-hudl-2/

That is even more reason to demand a refund as it has been no better since update. The time is often wrong on this one. I will try tomorrow.

are the charging issues when you have it on charge and it doesnt seem to charge?

Oh and i forgot that with blinkbox books being binned, you are now stuck with the blinkbox book app as you can't fully un-install it. Despite me arguing with a rep who claimed you can (idiots).

Unless you root it, but then your warrrantys out the window.

It fails to charge if turned on but not every time, it drops a massive amount without warning. The time is often wrong too. I really hope I get a refund as some folk have had 3 or 4 with same issue so pointless getting a replacement.

Phoned tech support and they gave me a return number to get a refund, no questions asked and none asked in store either. Can't fault that service really.

Thanks for the replies.

Tesco are belligerent about giving refund, my husband has taking his hudl back less than a year old but their policy is repair only!!
My daughters had the same problem our grandson's hudl was sent for repair and came back after a short while overheated and almost caught fire.
If it was another tablet you would get a replacement, obviously they can't replace you with another hudl.
