OK, I might sound completely barmy, but our dogs aren't supposed to go upstairs or on the furniture and after a year of fooling ourselves that our puppy will grow out of going upstairs we've finally become fed up with it and it's time to take drastic action - dog-proofing our stairs!

She just goes upstairs all through the day to have a rummage in the laundry basket and brings down dirty underwear - very embarrassing when we have people round - or finds some slippers or shoes, or at her most annoying raids my bedside table and steals my mobile or whatever and throws it up in the air, plays with it, and then chews it. Tonight she got my new L'occitane handcream which has made a bleedin' great mess and is expensive and the last straw!

The bizzare thing is she always brings the items downstairs to chew/play with them. She knows full well she will get told off but does not care one iota.

OK, so back to the point. I need to stop her getting upstairs and thought the best way would be to get a childproof stairgate and put it up till she gets out of the habit of sneaking upstairs.

So, any ideas where can I get a bargain labrador stairgate?

Thanks for the offer but wasn't looking to pay that much. Just looking for a real cheapo one to use until the dog gets out of the habit of going upstairs.
