Hi,

I received an iMac today through a courier and I've noticed the screen has an issue in the bottom left and right hand corners. I have linked an image in post 1.

Does anyone know what could be causing this, at first I thought it may have been condensation however I have had the iMac running for several hours now and nothing has changed - I thought perhaps it would have gone away if it was.

Thanks in advance.

It looks worse in person.

I don't know what it could be - damage maybe? If it is less than 30 days old you can reject it for a full refund. Where did you buy it from?

Thanks, I'm fully aware that I can return for a refund ect. that isn't the issue.

I'm really just looking for advice on what could have caused this, it appears to be in a certain pattern. Perhaps someone who repairs iMacs could assist as I feel that they would know.

Externally the iMac is in perfect condition, absolutely no damage apart for what I've mentioned.

Which issue? The white splodge in the middle of the picture or the three black marks at the bottom left?

The vent may just be the dust from the previous owner's house, perhaps they smoked or something. If something inside had been smoking then I'd have expected a catastrophic failure and it's obviously still working.

The 3 black marks. The picture doesn't reflect what it looks like in person, it is much worse and on both bottom corners.

physical screen damage, usually from being dropped.
