Intel® Media Accelerator 950 Graphics Up to 256MB shared graphics

Hi
I am new to this, but I am considering buying a dell InspironTM 6400(N07642) but he is a bit concerned whether the Intel® Media Accelerator 950 Graphics Up to 256MB shared graphics memory would play his games eg sims 2. All together its costing me £450. I wonder whether there is anything better.
Can anyone help?

256meg is a nice size for a laptop's shared gfx memory. Just make sure taking that 256 leaves you with a decent enough amount of system memory though. No point taking 256 out of something like only 1gig of ram imo.

Sims 2 would have absolutely no problems running on that spec.

tbh if u wanna play any decent game u NEED REPEAT NEED a dedicated graphics card

the 7300 should run it on lowest settings but if your budget can stretch go for a 7400

My girlfriend plays the game a hell of a lot and it runs fine on an old laptop with one of the Intel 64mb Extreme graphics things. That's with a Celeron processor too.

Having said that, you really should be getting Dell to put an ATI or nVidia graphics controller in there for that price. Speak to them on the phone rather than doing it online.
