i need a cheap, reliable internet provider for next year (student accommodation). Ideally the faster the better, but that is in no way essential.

possibly one that does some sort of student deal? or one that supplies a wireless modem? again little bonuses, these aren't essential

Are you an O2 customer? £7.50 and a freephone number for tech support can't say fairer than that. It is a 12 month contract tho'

i have the o2 deal, i have found them to be excellent

I don't have the O2 package myself, but I agree that it's probably the best deal at the moment if you are an O2 customer.

Some uni's offer a low cost broadband dealfor halls of residence students, so that could also be worth looking into with your uni.

If you have an Orange contract do they not offer free or cheap broadband for existing customers? If so just go for that.

i know one of their offer is to offer free contract if you take out a broadband contract.... not sure about vice versa

i think orange will do it for £12 a month for the 8mb connection since i have a mobile contract with them.

here is the info

can i get something better somewhere else?

If I recommend you and send you the details to send off, you can get the O2 contract for £7.50 and you dont need to be an O2 mobile customer.

can any O2 customer do this? or only specific ones such as yourself? how good is the o2 broadband?

I have used the broadband since last year and have not had many problems apart from the initial check on what speed I was getting. The support desk were really good and it is a freephone number!!
Yes any O2 customer can get broadband from £7.50 (for 8Mb). But if you go through me, then you will get the fastest one in your area for £7.50.
