worth watching on a proper IMAX screen but not sure its going to translate well at home even on a 50 inch screen....and i fear only proper sic fi buffs will enjoy it

To call it a masterpiece suggests that it is at the very least, Nolan's best work. Inception, Memento and the Prestige are all superior so your full stop needs to be replaced with open bracket (but not quite as masterful as Inception, Memento & the Prestige). Of course movie reviews are subjective but your "full stop!" implies that you feel your statement is indelible, although I'm sure you expected replies. Interstellar has some incredible set pieces, mind-blowing concepts and decent acting throughout. But it's many flaws and inconsistent long running time means it falls far short of being a masterpiece. Give it a few days, maybe even watch it again and I think in hindsight you will see that it is not the perfect movie you want it to be. I watched it twice at the IMAX. It was probably my most anticipated movie ever, and so the disappointment I felt was maybe exacerbated because of this. That's why I gave it a second viewing to make sure I hadn't missed anything. Unfortunately not. Its good....3.5/5 perhaps but not a masterpiece. Full-stop.

Cool story Bro :)

Memento = classic
The prestige = very good
Inception = classic

Interstellar is Christopher Nolans signature.

Saw it for the third time yesterday. I really like it, but I do agree with hbomb that Inception is better. Still, i'm comfortable giving it about eight and three quarters out of ten, I find it holds up very well under repeat viewing. Strangely, i enjoy it more in a non-imax cinema (seen it imax once, non-imax twice) - the dialogue is much clearer in imax (imax isn't just about screen size), but i enjoy the more overpowering music in a normal cinema. I do have issues with the film but as an overall experience i thought it was terrific.
