Hey guys. I hope you all had a great Christmas :)

I've had this issue with my iPhone 6 for some time now :( When the phone dies, the battery just refuses to respond to the charger (at least I think this is the case). When it first happened I had the battery replaced and it was fine for around a week. It then happened again at which point I had the battery replaced again and assumed it was the charger I was using (a questionable purchase from Amazon).

I've now had the battery replaced twice and it has happened again (I've been using an Apple certified Amazon Basics charger).

Has anybody experienced this issue and/or know what is causing it?

I had the same issues with my six, it always used to be pocket lint or fluff in the charge port, used a small nylon brush to get the fluff out and all was ok.

I have had this problem with other phones too. Definitely worth a check ;)

Sorry to heat that Buzz, have you tried cleaning out the charging port with something like a paper clip to remove any dust or anything getting in the way of the cable charging the phone?

Thanks for the replies guys :)

Unfortunately I had tried all these suggestions after numerous Google searches when the phone first encountered this problem. It didn't resolve it sadly.

Get hold of apple and have a rant!!!!! Is your phone iOS up to date?

I had the same issue. Took it to a local guy who cleaned out the charging socket and it was fine. Cost me a fiver

Why not use the supplied Apple charger to see if that makes the difference?

At the end of the day, the phone is faulty. Get Apple to replace it. In my experience, Apple customer care is excellent.

Good luck.

Hi. My husband had the same problem. He took the phone to an apple centre and they cleaned the port. It was all the dust and lint that had gathered in the port that resulted in the charger not responding.

well I don't think it's the lint if it works rest of the time unless it goes to empty completely I recon it will be a charger issue as maybe it needs a certain amount of current to get it to start charging from low I have see this happens with some powerbank they won't charge if all most empty from a charger which is giving less than 700mah but work fine if it's charged at least 50 percent. spend around a 10 on a good charger and cable mfi certified wit a higher charging rate unless the one u got is a high speed. charger then not sure. but u should be covered by Apple iPhone 6 isn't that old is it not sure about apple warranty isn't it same as samsung 2 years.

I don't have the supplied Apple charger, hence the use of the one I've been using.

Hey, I'm 90% confident it's not the charge port. There is no activity on the screen at all (where it would usually instruct you to connect to a mains charger).

its the charger or the cable. however, if there isn't enough left in the battery the basic apple charger will take hours to even start to charge it. leave it on overnight. alternatively charge a powerbank and then connect that up and leave it for hours.
