Hey, if I buy an iphone 6S on contract with O2 for example and upon receiving the phone use a different sim like an EE and give the O2 sim to my brother would that be allowed or would it cause any problems? Is the 6S coming from O2 going to be locked to O2?

If you buy from O2 direct the iphone will be locked to o2, so it won't work with an EE sim unless you get it unlocked first.

If you buy through CPW on O2 it'll lock to the first sim you put in it. So it's up to you.

If you but it sim free from Apple it'll be unlocked to start with and you can put a different sim in each day if you want :)

Then it'll lock to the first sim inserted, I'd suggest inserting a Three sim, then it'll be unlocked to all networks ;).

hahaa, sweet. so i'll put the EE sim that I want to use in the new iphone 6s and the sim that came with the phone i'll give to my bro. There isn't any network implication with that is there?

That should be fine, However it may make more sense to get hold of a three sim, then it would be unlocked permanently.!.

i thought that was sarcasm, wouldn't the three sim lock it to three then?

Nope because three don't lock their phones.!.

Well actually it may lock to the three network but they will unlock it for free

mobiles are part of CPW.

So put a three sim in moment I get it, then put an EE. And from there on, the phone is unlocked completely?

Agree with Shaun the 3 truck works what ever you do don't put another sim in it unless you have it on the contract or it will be a nightmare to get ever helpful EE to unlock it. Why not get a one from Apple that way you can buy it on 0% and just pay for the phone.

That is correct, It might possibly still lock to three initially, I'm not 100%, However Three will unlock it 100% for free in that case, All you have to do is fill out this form if that should happen.

I know that may mean a little patience and messing about but should you require it unlocking in the future it could cost a lot and because it wasn't supplied direct from EE they may even refuse to unlock it.!, Hence it's a no brainer.!.
