or

£149 delivered @ John Lewis with £10 voucher (out of stock atm)

Where are all these touted deals on the previous-gen iPods?
I'd rather get a deal on last year's model than pay top whack for the brand new one.

amen to that, the old 30gb and 60gb are still class

I picked up one from Empire Direct for about £142. But am awaiting despatch.

John Lewis is probably cheapest right now, but good luck trying to grab one as they seem to come in stock about 10:30 and then are sold out pretty quick.

You'll have better chance of finding Silver instock over Black in my experience, if you do see a Black 80GB make sure you leave one for me to buy! :-D

I think the problem is that the Classics are very keenly priced from the off. Infact I've seen "massive reductions" on previous gen 80GB video ipods which only bring them down to the price of a Classic anyway :?

Thanks for the tips, I'll keep my eye on John Lewis, had dealings with them in the past and always been very impressed :)

EDIT- I really would like a black one because alot of the current ipod accessories are black, admittedly gloss as opposed to matt. Then again I have already bought two of the £9.99 docks from argos... which were white :p

The new ones are nto glossy if you didn't know

They're matt, except the 'touch'

well judging by the nano I had to play with the other week

Anyone doing a 'buy x, get y free' type deal?
I checked and Argos, PC World, Currys, Comet etc, all have the standard package for £159 :-(
And we are told that price fixing doesn't exist? Like hell it don't!
edit: I realised that we have a new threat of those blasted postal strikes next week, so I just got one from Argos. I can't be arsed to mess about like that and wait a week or more to save just £7. It's tiny compared to my 60gb iPod Photo. So slim, almost as slim as me ;-)

haha, well these things sell out as soon as stores get stock. So they have no need to cut the price from RRP at the moment.

Maybe after christmas, some stores might knock a tenner off to grab some sales. But iPods hold there value well, even when a new model comes out!

I sold a 2 year old iPod for a little bit more than a new one on ebay

Yeah, I sold my 60gb iPod Photo the other day, so I invested in a nice new black 6th gen. It's gorgeous. Very shiny. I'll have to buy a silicon skin for it.
