IPOD help please :)

Ok, I have £100 to spend on an IPOD and I know nothing about them and don't know anyone with one

I've seen the words IPOD nano, touch, shuffle etc - all these words mean nothing to me

Can someone give me a quick guide or point me to a good site please?

And can anyone suggest a good buy for my money?

I hope there aren't too many things to consider!

Many thanks for any advice

This should help you out-nothing like going to the manufacturer!

http://www.apple.com/itunes/

Here, you'll find links to all the different ipods there are.

I have the new 3rd generation 4gb Nano. My first ipod and i do like it!! Got a nice case for it for Christmas too (http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/-/593/801/-/3512098/Switch-Easy-Case-For-New-iPod-Nano-3rd-Generation/Product.html?searchtype=genre)

A lower price alternative is the Sandisk Sansa e200 series MP3/MP4 player (video playback as well). My 15 year old had one of these for Christmas and they come out with very good reviews including being among the current batch of BEST BUYS in WHICH? magazine. Personally there are aspects of this player that i prefer over my ipod; not least a memory card expansion slot and the ability to replace the battery which you can't do yourself with the ipod.

For £100 you could get the 8gb version (e280) and some accessories.

Play.com usually has these keenly priced (and currently has them reduced) or you could go direct to the Sandisk shop

Good Luck

Thanks Mottmania

The Sandisk Sansa e200 series looks perfect for my needs but I would also like a speaker system to go with it

Do u recken it would foit this one:

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3478058/SanDisk-Sansa-Speaker-Dock/Product.html

The description only mentions the Sansa e100 and m200 series so not sure if it will fit?

Many thanks

nicojo,

That speaker dock system definitely isn't for the e200 series. Here's a number of other possibilities that are all compatible with the e200 series and which range in price and quality.
